We would like to acknowledge the Gundungurra and Ngunnawal people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Hold Cottage sits and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
In 2019, we became the owners of this little 1910 red brick cottage in historic Gunning, NSW. When we made the purchase, unbeknownst to us, we later discovered the cottage was sitting on a block of land that was once owned by our ancestor, Joseph Bean. Hold Cottage has been lovingly restored and is now a place for our guests to embrace the simple, country life. A beautifully curated space full of modern day luxuries. Linen bedding, a fully equipped kitchen, a beautiful outdoor space under festoon lighting and a big deep bath.
Sitting high on the hill overlooking the village, the cottage is a country escape designed to nurture you and slow you down. Hold Cottage is full of old world charm with sash windows, high ceilings, creaky floors, cracked walls and a glowing open fire, she’s perfectly imperfect. Under an hour from Canberra and 2.5 hours from Sydney, Gunning is part of the greater Southern Tablelands Region. Travel the roads through the ever-changing landscape, check into Hold Cottage and check out of the real world while you immerse yourself in the regions rich history and discover country NSW.
